Snow Beast
 Tis like a wolf rising from the deep snows of the wastes. Fur edged in frigid ice, teeth grinding, chipping ice. The howl like that of the worse nor’easter … they hunt in packs and stain themselves with the blood of their dinner.

Special Abilities
Cold – When a Snow beast successfully bites a target it has a 75% chance of transferring its magical cold to the target. If the target fails her saving throw she is dealt an extra 1d4 damage and losses a point of Constitution.
Self-Created – Any creature killed by a Snow Beast has a 30% chance of creating a new Snow Beast due to the reaction of their life blood

Background
The first Snow Beasts where formed of the spilt blood of wizards who sacrificed themselves to close the Chaos Gate thousands of years ago. These proto-snow beasts wandered the wastes of the great battle devouring all who were fool enough to wander into their domain. As more blood fell from their carnage more snow beasts emerged to spread and ravage the land.

Ecology
Snow beasts are pack creatures and tend to move in group of 1 to 2d6. They are as intelligent as a normal wild animal and while not needing food or drink to survive hunt for the pleasure of the kill and the potential to procreate their “species”. Snow beasts can only maintain their form in temperatures below 20 degrees.

Pack Mentality Snow beasts gain a cumulative +1 bonus to attack rolls, to a mximum of +4, for each snow beast that is within 5 feet of its target.

Actions
Melee Attack – Bite +2 to hit (reach 5 ft; one creature). Hit 1d4+Cold damage. If attack is successful the target must succeed a DC 11 Constitution Check or suffer 1 damage to their Constitution score until an extended rest. If a target’s hit point maximum reaches 0 due to this attack the target dies and another Snow Beast will be created within 1d4 turns.
Melee Attack – Claws +2 to hit (reach 5 ft; one creature). Hit 2d4 Damage.

Magic Item - Arcane Gauntlet

Arcane Gauntlets are small devices of leather and copper fitted to the wearer's primary hand and feature a small, thin gem imbued with pure arcane energies affixed to the palm. As a standard action the wearer of an Arcane Gauntlet may release its energies up to four times in a single encounter safely, and up to eight times if the wearer is willing to endure the burning residual heat from sustained use of the device.  If an Arcane Gauntlet is used to its maximum effect (eight times) it is inoperable until such a time as its wearer takes a long rest.
Arcane Gauntlet- Rare Magical Item - Requires Atunement - Ranged Magical Weapon - Range 60/120ft - One Target, Hit 6 (1d6 + 2) Arcane Damage - Special After 4 uses the Gauntlet inflicts 2 Arcane damage on its wearer during every use in an encounter, on the 8th such use the wearer incurs 1d6 damage from the gauntlet's use.
